Planning, Budgeting and Innovation Unit

Objective

To provide expertise in planning, budgeting, budgeting and innovation.

This Unit is led by a Director

Functions

The Unit performs the following functions: -

• Advise accounting officer on all matters related to planning and budget;
• Coordinate preparation, review and implementation of strategic plan, annual plans and budget;
• Provide input to the ministerial budget speech and annual economic report;
• Institutionalise strategic planning and budget skills;
• Analyse and prepare budget guidelines and consolidation of focused budget;
• Coordinate preparation, resource mobilisation and implementation development projects or programs;
• Coordinate formulation and preparation of annual plan and medium-term strategic plan;
• Compile projects, programs, action plans and develop strategies for resource mobilisation;
• Provide inputs in the establishment of performance targets and indicators;
• Provide technical guidance and support for institutionalisation of strategic planning and budgeting process;
• Collect, study and analyse statistics for the formulation and implementation of policies, plans and budgetary proposals; and
• Prepare and submit periodic performance reports.
