The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, officially inaugurated the buildings, roads, and key infrastructure in Mtumba Government City, Dodoma, on October 30, 2026.

Speaking to various government leaders and citizens attending the historic event, H.E. the President noted that the launch of Mtumba Government City marks a major milestone in the plan to relocate government headquarters and bring essential services closer to the public.

H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan directed ministries and various public institutions to continue strengthening ICT systems to streamline access to government services for citizens.

“Let me urge you, government officials, that even as government services are delivered here at our Mtumba Government City, citizens should not be forced to travel all the way to the capital to follow up on every service provided by the government,” said President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.

The Office of the Attorney General is among the government institutions located within Mtumba Government City, carrying out its core mandate of providing legal advisory services to the government, its institutions, and the public.

The Attorney General, Hon. Hamza S. Johari, and the Deputy Attorney General, Hon. Samwel M. Maneno, were among the senior government officials who attended the inauguration ceremony of Mtumba Government City in Dodoma.

The Office of the Attorney General continues to bring legal services closer to the public, currently maintaining a presence in nearly 18 regions across the country.

Furthermore, the Office of the Attorney General has been conducting free legal clinics for citizens in various parts of the country as part of ongoing efforts to resolve legal challenges facing the public.
