OFFICE OF THE ATTORNEY GENERAL CONCLUDES PUBLIC SERVICE WEEK BY BRINGING LEGAL SERVICES CLOSER TO THE CITIZENS

The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has concluded the Public Service Week celebrations by consistently providing various legal services to citizens who visited the Office’s pavilion during the event, which ran from June 16 to June 23, 2026, at the Chinangali Grounds in Dodoma.

The Public Service Week celebrations culminated on June 23, 2026, where the Guest of Honor was the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office (PO-RALG), Hon. Prof. Riziki S. Shemdoe, who represented the Chief Secretary, Hon. Ambassador Dr. Moses M. Kusiluka.

Speaking during the conclusion of the event, Prof. Shemdoe urged public servants to continue working with a high level of professionalism and integrity, and to deliver quality services to citizens.

“I urge all public servants to continue working diligently and to implement the directives of our President, Hon. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, to bring smiles to the faces of Tanzanians,” Prof. Shemdoe stated.

Various government leaders visited the Office of the Attorney General's pavilion and were briefed on the services provided by the Office during the celebrations. Among the dignitaries who visited were the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport, Prof. Godwin W. Kahyarara; the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Constitution and Legal Affairs, Dr. Franklin J. Rwezimula; and the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Dr. Maduhu I. Kazi.

The Office of the Attorney General utilized the week-long event to bring legal services closer to the public by offering legal education and advisory services, as well as resolving various legal challenges faced by citizens.

Speaking at the climax of the Public Service Week, the Principal State Attorney, Ms. Happiness Nyabunya, commended and thanked the citizens who visited the OAG pavilion to access legal education and counseling.

“We commend the citizens who took the time to visit our pavilion. We firmly believe that the education and legal advice provided will significantly enhance their understanding of legal matters,” said Ms. Happiness.

Furthermore, Ms. Happiness explained that some of the legal challenges presented by citizens at the OAG pavilion during the celebrations primarily pertained to land disputes, inheritance, and family law matters.

On her part, Ms. Emiliana Ibrahim expressed her satisfaction and delight with the legal education she received. She highly appreciated the in-depth clarifications on various legal matters provided upon visiting the pavilion of the Office of the Attorney General.

“I am very pleased with the education I received. I was warmly welcomed and thoroughly enlightened on the core mandates of the Office of the Attorney General. I am leaving with a much broader understanding of how this office operates,” said Ms. Emiliana.

The participation of the Office of the Attorney General in the Public Service Week celebrations is part of the Office's ongoing strategic initiatives to bring legal services closer to the public.
