On August 11, 2026, the Attorney General of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Hamza S. Johari, presented the Government Statement regarding the Written Laws (Miscellaneous Amendments) (No. 2) Bill, 2026 to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Governance, Constitution, and Legal Affairs at the Parliament Buildings in Dodoma.

During the session, Hon. Johari outlined the Government's explanations regarding the Bill, which aims to amend key pieces of legislation, including ,The Land Use Planning Act, Cap. 166, The Local Government (District Authorities) Act, Cap. 287, The Local Government (Urban Authorities) Act, Cap. 288, The National Security Council Act, Cap. 61,The Valuation and Valuers Registration Act, Cap. 138, The Wildlife Conservation Act, Cap. 283.

The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Governance, Constitution, and Legal Affairs, chaired by Hon. Dr. Damas Ndumbaro (MP), officially received and deliberated on the Government’s submission regarding the proposed amendments.
