ATTORNEY GENERAL URGES TPBA TO BE INNOVATIVE AND FOCUS ON CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Attorney General, Hon. Hamza S. Johari, has called on the Tanzania Public Bar Association (TPBA) to be innovative and remain focused on executing their core duties, emphasizing that citizens and the nation rely on them to carry out their responsibilities effectively.
The Attorney General made these remarks during a meeting with the newly elected leadership of the Tanzania Public Bar Association (TPBA), who paid a courtesy call to introduce themselves officially on August 4, 2026, at the Attorney General's sub-office in Dar es Salaam.
Hon. Johari stated that the TPBA has a major duty to fulfill its mandate efficiently. He stressed the importance of countering and clarifying misinformation spread on social media, warning that failure to do so could lead the public to make decisions based on inaccurate information.
On his part, the President of the Tanzania Public Bar Association (TPBA), Mr. Bonaventure Pardon Mwambaja, pledged that his leadership will actively implement their established work plan to ensure the association continues to deliver quality service to the nation.
Among other matters, the meeting aimed to officially introduce the new leadership of the Tanzania Public Bar Association (TPBA) to their patron, Attorney General Hon. Hamza S. Johari, and to present their strategic implementation plan.
The TPBA President was accompanied by other executive leaders, including Vice President Mr. Acley Chaule, Chairperson Ms. Selestina Kunambi, and Vice Chairperson Ms. Farida Kiobya.
