<p>CONTRACTS AND TREATIES DIVISION</p><p>OBJECTIVE</p><p>To provide legal advice, expertise and services on issues relating to contracts and treaties. This Division will be led by a Director and three (3) Assistant Directors.</p><p>SECTIONS OF CONTRACTS AND TREATIES DIVISION</p><p>This Division will comprise three (3) Sections as follows: -</p><ul><li>Procurement Contract Section;</li><li>Investment, Natural Resources and Financing Contracts Section; and</li><li>Treaties and International Agreement Section.</li></ul><p>FUNCTIONS OF CONTRACTS AND TREATIES DIVISION</p><p>The Division will perform the following functions</p><ul><li>To Review and provide legal advice to the Government on regional, bilateral and multilateral treaties involving Government or to which Government has an interest;</li><li>To Provide legal advice to the Government on the activities of UN agencies, AU, SADC, EAC, commissions and other international organizations that require submission of a country position;</li><li>To Conduct research on international treaty matters;</li><li>To provide legal advice in the preparation of contracts, Memorandum of Understanding and other business memorandum involving the Government;</li><li>To provide legal advice to the Ministries, Independent Departments and Executive Agencies on matters relating to Natural Resources, Environment, Fisheries, Water and Irrigation, Finance, Economic and Planning, Industry, Commerce, Oil and Gases, Energy and Mineral Laws;</li><li>To manage data base on matters related to Natural Resources, Environment, Fisheries, Water and Irrigation, Finance, Economic and Planning, Industry, Commerce, Oil and Gases, Energy and Mineral Laws and advise accordingly;</li><li>To provide legal consultation to MDAs and LGAs on contracts to which the Government has interest;</li><li>To provide professional, strategic advice and expertise to MDAs on matters pertaining to procurement contracts;</li><li>To analyze procurement contracts entered into by MDAs and advise;</li><li>To ensure that value for money is achieved in procurement contracts and advise accordingly;</li><li>To Create and manage database of procurement contracts and advise accordingly.</li></ul>
