The Attorney General of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Hamza S. Johari, held a high-level consultative meeting today, April 14, 2026, with the Chairman of the Tanzania Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TEITI) Committee, Amb. Wilson K. Masilingi.

The meeting took place at the Attorney General’s Office located within the Parliamentary grounds in the capital city, Dodoma.

Ambassador Masilingi, who was appointed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, on January 29, 2026, visited the Attorney General for an official introduction. During the session, the Chairman extended his congratulations to Hon. Johari for his efficiency and excellence in executing his mandate as the Chief Legal Adviser to the Government.

Beyond the introductions, the two leaders engaged in productive discussions regarding strategic ways to further strengthen the existing collaboration between the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) and TEITI. The focus remains on enhancing transparency, accountability, and legal oversight within the mining, oil, and natural gas sectors

The Chairman of the TEITI Committee was accompanied by the Executive Secretary of TEITI, Ms. Mariam Mgaya, who also participated in the discussions regarding the institutional synergy required to safeguard the nation's natural resources.
