CITIZENS PRAISE LEGAL CLINIC SERVICES
Residents of the Dar es Salaam region have continued to turn out in large numbers, expressing their satisfaction with the free legal advisory services provided by the Office of the Attorney General. The ongoing Free Legal Clinic is being held at the Mnazi Mmoja Grounds in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking on the public’s response to the Legal Clinic, the Chairperson of the Dar es Salaam Regional Legal Advisory Committee and Regional State Attorney, Ms. Mwema Punzi, stated that the turnout has been immense, highlighting the citizens' thirst for legal knowledge.
“Citizens are continuing to arrive in large numbers to seek various legal services. This gives us a clear picture that the demand for legal services among the public is very high,” said Ms. Mwema.
Furthermore, the Dar es Salaam Regional State Attorney urged residents to continue visiting the Mnazi Mmoja Grounds to access these essential services.
“We encourage citizens to keep coming to these grounds to receive our services. We have a dedicated team of State Attorneys here who are ready to resolve various legal challenges facing the public,” Ms. Mwema added.
On their part, citizens who attended the clinic appeared highly impressed by the professionalism and the friendly language used by the State Attorneys providing the legal counsel.
Mr. Hussein Mfaume, a resident of Ilala in Dar es Salaam, commended the Office of the Attorney General for conducting the free Legal Clinic, noting that it will help resolve legal challenges and disputes, especially for low-income citizens.
“I had an inheritance matter that troubled me for a long time without knowing what steps to take. Through this clinic, I met with State Attorneys who enlightened me, and I now know my rights. This clinic is a savior for us, the common citizens,” said Mr. Hussein.
Similarly, Ms. Diana Chilowaka thanked the Office of the Attorney General for hosting the clinic in Dar es Salaam, allowing citizens to access legal services at no cost. She also requested the Office of the Attorney General to conduct such clinics more frequently to reach more people.
“I congratulate the Office of the Attorney General for providing this service for free. The attorneys listen to us patiently and give us advice without charging us a single cent. We request that these services become sustainable,” said Ms. Diana.
The Free Legal Clinic was officially launched by the Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner, Hon. Albert Chalamila, on February 16, 2026, and continued through February 22, 2026, at the Mnazi Mmoja Grounds in Dar es Salaam.
