The Attorney General of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Hamza S. Johari, held a meeting with the Director of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Mr. Michael Gill, on February 26, 2026, at the Attorney General’s Sub-Office in Dar es Salaam.

During the discussions, Hon. Johari expressed his gratitude to the ICAO Director for selecting Tanzania as the host for the specialized aviation training. He noted that the program provides a vital opportunity for State Attorneys to learn and deepen their understanding of international aviation laws and global treaties.

Furthermore, Hon. Johari stated that the Government is currently in the process of reviewing various international aviation conventions to finalize their ratification, ensuring that the process aligns strictly with the National interest.

For his part, the ICAO Director, Mr. Michael Gill, thanked the Attorney General for honoring the invitation to serve as the Guest of Honor at the opening of the workshop. The workshop, organized jointly by the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) and ICAO, aims to build professional capacity and strengthen the implementation of international aviation safety standards.

Mr. Michael Gill was accompanied by, Mr. Salim Msangi – Director General of TCAA, Ms. Maria Memba – Head of Legal Unit, TCAA and Mr. Andrew Opolot – Legal Officer, ICAO.
